| Description: |
USER ENTERED : This is a British heirloom which originated in Bath, England. It is a romaine (also referred to as "cos") type lettuce. It was introduced by the Goldring family and originally it was known as "Goldring's Bath Cos". It is very plain in appearance, a medium dark green with some very slight bronzing on the tips of the leaves. This variety is fairly cold hardy and stands out from most other lettuce varieties due to it's sweetness. There is no bitterness to it. Per the Adaptive Seeds website "it won an award of merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1923. The Henry Doubleday Research Association found it to have three times the Vitamin C as other lettuces."
